HOW IS IT BEING ENCOURAGED?

By providing the following incentives:

• An AFFORESTATION GRANT to cover the costs associated with the establishment of the plantation - payable after planting.

• A MAINTENANCE GRANT to cover the costs of maintenance - payable 4 years after the date of planting. An Annual premium of £50 per acre is payable under the scheme to eligible applicants by the EU.
